Beginner doubts about OFBiz

Hello all,

i am volunteer for a non-profit organization, we have 6 independant centers
in Europe and we are conducting project to implement a common ERP solution
for different needs of the different centers. We have some initial
questions about OFBiz, mainly if there are available open source / paid
modules about:

   - Accommodation / Hotel management;
   - Meals / Restaurant management;
   - Joomla integration ( we have already site based on Joomla );
   - Shared contact management with possibility of having groups of
   contacts;
   - The possibility to configure workflows or events between the different
   modules within OFBiz;
   - Suppliers management;
   - HR recruitment / management;
   - POS for sales;
   - CRM;
   - Calendar management;
   - Events management ( booking and management of accommodation, meals and
   allocation of HR )

We were considering odoo but they are changing their conditions and also
the license... So we are now evaluating other OS ERPs. We are still looking
for directions for our different requirements ( of the several centers )
but we want to work / develop / configure preferably the same tools. If you
can give us some help it would be very much appreciated.

Pedro

I see that the suggested tables in consonance with the book have been
accepted and they are part of the data model. Is the functionality
associated with it available already? If so can you point me in the
direction? Also if a powerful feature like this is already available, you
should advertise it in OFBiz main page.

Thanks,

Pedro

Hello all,

I've taken a good look at the demo and documentation and i think it is a
solid product. I wonder if there is a Hotel / lodging managment extension i
could install to have a look...

Can you help me on this?

Thanks in advance

Hi Pedro

Welcome.

I think that OFBiz can pretty much respond to all of the things you have
mentioned – and it’s all open source. You will probably need to do some
customisation along the way – depending on your requirements but there is a
lot of functionality available out of the box. Have you taken a look at the
demo yet - to get an idea of the functionality?

Anyway please let us know what other information you need and we’ll try to
help.

Thanks
Sharan
