License in code contributions
I recently came across a code contribution for the RDC taglib [
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=35740 ], which contains
the
Copyright [yyyy] [name of copyright owner]
line in every file as pointed out in the Appendix at the bottom of [
http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.txt ]. It is followed by the
ASL 2.0 as shown in the Appendix.
The appendix talks about "How to apply the Apache License to your work",
does it also hold for code submitted for inclusion in existing Apache
projects? While the above contribution may be useful, I wanted to check
what the norm is within Taglibs (or Jakarta, or Apache) for allowing /
denying contributions based on the copyright line mentioned above.
Thanks,
-Rahul
