[jira] Commented: (CHUKWA-159) Unregister incorrect adaptor ID
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CHUKWA-159?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12700892#action_12700892 ]
Cheng commented on CHUKWA-159:
------------------------------
There are couple places where a metrics adaptor gets unregistered
1 Agent restart as mentioned in chukwa-5.
2 Metrics log file doesn't exist or it's not readable.
3 Race condition as mentioned by Chukwa-68
After investigation, #1 and #2 might not be the cause. I will focus on #3.

> Key: CHUKWA-159

> Project: Hadoop Chukwa
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: data collection
> Environment: Redhat EL 5.1, Java 6

> Assignee: Cheng
> Priority: Blocker

> Two of the long running clusters show the same symptoms, where jvm and namenode metrics files are unregistered when they shouldn't. This may not be the same issue as CHUKWA-5. However, someone should take a closer look at the problem associate with ChukwaAgent and ChukwaAgentController.
