I just switched from the commits@trafficserver.apache.org list to the commits-digest@ list, and I'm getting digest emails for every commit. It should be sent out less frequently - once every 4 hours, maybe once every 24 hours - not with each available message.

I think whats being hit here is the message size frequency - a batch of mails go every 64kb is the default, normally this is fine, but so far on this commits list there have also been commits of 20, 20 upto 60 kb messages, so the digest is triggered often.
I've upped the trigger limit to 640kb which should help dramatically, the other triggers may also kick in then, which is every 30 mails or every 48 hours, so you should be fine now.
