Xalan and Xerces 1.7

Xalan currently does not compile with Xerces 1.7, as directories were changed in
this release of the XML Parser. 
We already use 1.7 in some places and would like to avoid having Xerces 1.7 and
1.6 included in our code. Is there an easy way to compile Xalan 1.3 with Xerces
1.7? Or are there plans to release a new version of Xalan that works with Xerces
1.7?
