+ It is built on Linux for massive educational resource, provide users with transparent service of resource access, standardized education resource description, unified interface and flexible security control mechanism, and also provide the expandable system, support the dynamic accession of heterogeneous resource and to achieve rapid retrieval and positioning.</p>
+ <p><strong>Solutions</strong><br />
+ MERSMP is a resources distributed storage platform, utilize resource directory centralized management strategy to support retrieval services for user.In figure 1, shows the component of MERSMP with its working mechanism.</p>

+ <td valign="top" class="textContainer"><strong>Real Class System</strong> is a distance education (or distance learning) system. Distance education also known as distance learning , is a method of instruction and learning designed to overcome barriers of time and space by allowing students to study in their own homes or at local facilities, often at their own convenience, using materials available electronically or by mail. Contact with the instructor usually occurs via telephone or e-mail. Telecommunication networks and teleconferencing have facilitated distance learning. Libraries are working to support distance learning by providing online catalogs and databases, electronic reserves, electronic reference service, online tutorials, and electronic document delivery.<br/>
+ The <strong>Real Class System</strong> consists of four modules which are the <strong>Real Class Center</strong>, the <strong>Data Transmit Unit</strong>, the <strong>Teacher Client</strong> and the <strong>Student Client</strong>. Through the combined use of the four modules, it achieves the distance learning function.
+ The four modules' introductions are:<br/>

+ <li><strong>Real Class Center :</strong> It is the total control center in the Real Class System.</li>
+ <li><strong>Data Transmit Unit:</strong> DTU (Data Transmit Unit) is transparent to teacher and student clients</li>
+ <li><strong>Teacher Client:</strong> It is the teacher's console, and provides real-time video, audio, text and electronic lesson plans what the teacher is teaching on the screen to students.</li>
+ <li><strong>Student Client:</strong> Student client can join a class and take part in real time communication with the teacher in different network or different place.</li>

+ Function of the system:<br/>

+ <li><strong>Multimedia Classroom:</strong> synchronously live broadcast and share of teaching scene</li>
+ <li><strong>Real Time Multimedia Interaction:</strong> offer real-time the interaction between teachers and students in the way of text and audio/video stream</li>
+ <li><strong>Scenic On-line Stream Media Courseware Recording:</strong> teacher scenes and contents of the class are recorded and can be used on VOD systems</li>
+ </ul>
+ The system can transmits multimedia data adaptively according to condition of network, and has clear, simple interface. Real Class System has independent copyright without supporting of the third-party software, and can completely satisfy the request of real time interactive teaching. + <td valign="top" class="textContainer">XPlayer is the key software project that supports desktop operating system of 863 projects in the field of information technology. The purpose is to develop an integrated media player for Linux. The player has two components, stand-alone program and browser plug-in. <br/>
+ XPlayer supports asf, rm, mov and other current mainstream media. Streaming media and local media are both supported. In fact, it's an universal media player for Linux platform. Remarkably, multi-object multimedia and streaming media are supported by XPlayer.

+ <li> <strong>Multi-object media synchronized control mechanism. </strong><br/>
+ Synchronized control mechanism has six parts: parser, decoder, multi-object multimedia media synchronization module, multi-object video streaming integration module, OSD module and audio filter. Parser receives media data from multiple local file or internet multi-object streaming, and parses them. Parsed data flows into corresponding data queue; Decoder receives video and audio data from the queue, and according to the multimedia coding algorithm, launch corresponding decoder to decode multiple video and audio data by the multi-process way, and decoded data will be sent to multi-object streaming synchronization module; Multiple granularity hierarchical synchronization method is employed to ensure all media objects can be played synchroniously; Image integration module , On Screen Display(OSD) and audio filter are used facilitate media presentation performance. </li>
+ <li><strong>QoS control technology for Streaming Media on Demand. </strong><br/>
+ QoS control mechanisms use Fast Streaming Transmission (<strong>FST</strong>) and Player-driven Congestion Control (<strong>PDCC</strong>) to control the media-on-demand.<br />
+ <strong>FST:</strong> When bandwidth is sufficient enough, the server sends data to players at higher rate than normal to make data of the buffer reach the minimum level (prefill) start playing as soon as posisible. In this way, the uses' overall waiting time is reduced.<br />
+ <strong>PDCC:</strong> The player collect current network congestion status according to RTP data packets loss rate. When network does not match current streaming, the player consults with server for QoS. Then, server will choose the most suitable encoded streaming that suits to the current available bandwidth to send to the player;</li>
