Using a proxy server with a stub code generated using Wsdl2java

Is it possible to get stub code generated using Wsdl2java to use a proxy
server? Looking at HTTPSender.java, it appears that proxyHost and proxyPort
are only used when the protocol in the URI of the WSDL file is "https", not
"http". Is there a reason why it wouldn't be used with "http"?
