Upgrading from 1.1 to 1.2
How do i migrate db from 1.1 to 1.2? I have too many projects/users to do
it manually.
Continuum site says that no tool is needed so how do i copy the database?
Do i have to use a derby utility or just copy the database directories from
one installation to the other?
Sorry for this basic question but my knowledge on derby is almost none.

the DB schema has been extended, so you need to update your old schema.

Copying the db files worked fine but there is something strange, if i start
with a fresh db i have the local repositories, purge configuration and queue
options in the menu, if I start continuum pointing to the old db those
options are missing from the menu. Is this ok?

This is the kind of thing that belongs on the wiki. :) We used to do
this for every Struts release... as people upgrade, they can add notes
to help the next person along:

Once i understand the problem i dont think it should be filed on jira but
being documented in the web site so everybody knows. The application should
not add new roles to existing users for security reasons. Only an admin
should do it.

It's an issue. Existing roles doesn't seems to be updated with the new
available operations, can you file it in jira?

Copying the db files worked fine but there is something strange, if i start
with a fresh db i have the local repositories, purge configuration and queue
options in the menu, if I start continuum pointing to the old db those
options are missing from the menu. Is this ok?

It's not a problem. :) Brett already answered that copying the
database will work.
A couple of things to be aware of when upgrading...
The location of each working copy is stored in the database, so if you
have projects checked out into a directory like
/path/to/continuum-1.1/working-copies, they're *still* going to want
to go there. [1]
We've also had reports of trouble with configuration for the new
release output directory. If you can't get to the configuration page,
editing the continuum.xml file should work.
