CLI2 Status Update

Can anyone provide an update for the Cli2 status?
It looks very useful I would like to start using it. 
Is it going to be officially released soon?
I worried that the copy I taken from the CVS will be unstable and I will
not be able migrate smoothly to the official release.   

I found the following tutorial

Is it a draft worth going over?
