[Bug 4159] New: spamassassin should examine already marked mail

http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4159

Summary: spamassassin should examine already marked mail
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: 3.0.2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: spamc/spamd
        AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
        ReportedBy: donpaolo@gsi.it

Since one or two week spam control in my evolution appear to be less accurate,
letting many mails in my main folder, while they are obviously spam.

Controlling the mails, I found that they were already marked as passed through
spamassassin:

X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0.1 (2004-10-22) on mailproxy.gsi.it
X-Spam-Level: **
X-Spam-Status: No, score=2.0 required=3.5 tests=ALL_TRUSTED,INVALID_TZ_GMT,
        X_MESSAGE_INFO autolearn=no version=3.0.1

gsi.it is my pop3 server.

Now many messages come with these lines. I don't know if my pop3 has activated a
spam filter, but it is strange, because those messages are clearly spam.

So it could be a spammers' strategy: to put spam-passed markers in order not to
have their spam checked.

I think it would be necessary to have spamassassin check *every* mail.

SpamAssassin does scan every mail, regardless of whether it contains
X-Spam-Status/etc. headers.

is it possible your ISP is now scanning inbound mails? the hostname
"mailproxy.gsi.it" does make it sound likely.

BTW, if spam is firing ALL_TRUSTED, there may be a problem with
the data they're passing to the scanner. Spams should not fire
that unless they came from inside the gsi.it network.

marking WORKSFORME, since I don't think that's the bug in this case
