JDK 1.3.1 port status

I've reviewed the posts on porting xmlbeans v1 to JDK 1.3.1, esp. Anatoly's excellent list.

Is anyone actively working on this?  If not, I'd like to do so.  I am going to need to use it on WL7 by the end of the quarter, so if it isn't underway already, I'd like to start on it next week.
