Looking for a CATCHPA

Hi,

I'm looking for a CATCHPA library to use with my Tapestry application. I'm looking for something easy to use and efficient.

I welcome any advice.

Do you have a code example of such an ImageCaptchaServlet?

Daniel Lydiard <dl...@hotmail.com> wrote: I'm using Jcaptcha with my tapestry application.

1. Load the ImageCaptchaServlet in your web.xml.

jcaptcha

com.foo.ImageCaptchaServlet

1

jcaptcha

/jcaptcha

2. Do something like this in a component class method to get the captcha
question.
captchaId = getPage().getRequest().getSession(true).getId();
return CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().getQuestionForID(captchaId);

3. Point to the servlet for the captchaimage in your component .

4. To validate the user response
captchaId = getRequest().getSession(true).getId();

return
CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().validateResponseForID(captchaId,
userResponse);

Hope this helps.

Yes that was the kind of thing I was thinking of. I just forgot where the information was.

Would this help? I use it to generate the URL to a page through the
PageService:

   @InjectObject("engine-service:page")
   public abstract IEngineService getPageService();

   public String getPageURL(IRequestCycle cycle, String pageName) {
     return getPageService().getLink(false, pageName).getURL();
   }

If you really want to capture the output of a component, I think you
need to provide your own MarkupWriter and parse it contents?

Re: Programmatically create PageLink ?

Posted by Norbert Sándor <de...@erinors.com>.
You cannot programatically create a PageLink. What you can do:
- use the "page service" to generate the link itself (ie. the href part
of PageLink), see PageLink.java for an example
- Embed a PageLink in a Block, and render its contents to a custom
writer which is backed by for example a StringWriter. This way you can
get the entire output of the PageLink, including the <a> tag, etc.

I haven't followed this discussion, but I hope it helps.

Re: Programmatically create PageLink ?

Posted by Oscar Picasso <os...@yahoo.com>.
Hi,

Thanks for the advice, but it's not what I intend to do. I already know how to use a PageLink.

What I want to do, is to capture the output of a PageLink and use it in a parameter of another component, in that case in a FieldLabel. The actual code should look like this.

<span jwcid="@FieldLable" raw="true" displayName="ongl:'You should accept the ' + myPageLink" field="accept"/><input jwcid="accept@Checkbox" value="ognl:tos"/>

You see the difference. I don't use a PageLink here but I want a generated output at myPageLink. myPageLink would be a programmatically generated PageLink.

I have already seen something similar with other kind of generated links used in conjuction with a RedirectException. I just don't find this example.

Well, I think it's quite easy, since you only need to provide the name of
the page, like

<a jwcid="@PageLink" page="Page1">go to Page1</a>

So if you instead had

<a jwcid="@PageLink" page="ognl:page">go to Page</a>

Hi,

How to create programmaticlly a PageLink?

Actually I want to use the rendered pagelink inside a FieldLabel.

Something like:
<span jwci="@FieldLabel" field="myField" raw="true" displayName="ognl:myPageLink "/>

Maybe you have a better idea for what I intend to do.

Re: Looking for a CATCHPA

Posted by Adam Zimowski <zi...@gmail.com>.
Using Captcha as a separate servlet is very un-Tapestry like. The way
to do it in Tapestry is to setup a Hivemind service. My app uses it
like this (hivemodule.xml):

	<service-point id="CaptchaService"
	interface="org.apache.tapestry.engine.IEngineService">
		<invoke-factory>
			<construct class="org.opendating.tapestry.services.CaptchaService">
				<set-object
				property="linkFactory"
				value="service:tapestry.url.LinkFactory"/>
			</construct>
		</invoke-factory>
	</service-point>

	<contribution configuration-id="tapestry.services.ApplicationServices">
		<service name="captcha" object="service:CaptchaService"/>
	</contribution>

You can then inject the service into the Captcha component you can
build. I posted links to the opensource app which uses this stuff.
Have a look at several interesting classes which do it 100% within
Tapestry, no external servlet.

Here are some: CaptchaService, OpenDatingCaptchaEngine, CaptchaComp,
RegistrationCaptchaPage.

The code is out there in the open. You could easily take pieces you
need and fit it right into your project.

Property Selection on submit to an anchor

Posted by James Sherwood <js...@rgisolutions.com>.
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would know how I could have a property
selection(dropdown box) with an onchange submit go to an anchor in the page
after it submits?

Thanks,
James

doing an anchor in a form submit?

Posted by James Sherwood <js...@rgisolutions.com>.
I have done this before I beleive but can't seem to remember how or figure
it out again.

Basically I have a form submit and if a certain condition is met I want to
finish the submit by sending them to a certian part of the next page by
using an anchor.

I.E.: cycle.activate("Submittedpage#secondsection") (i know this doesnt work
but its an example:)

any ideas?

Thanks,
James

Check out www.opendating.org which uses JCaptcha. The source code is
easily browsable from http://www.opendating.org/dev/javadoc/.
RegistrationCaptchaPage is what you want. You can download complete
source code from sourceforge.net/projects/opendating.

Adam

Whoops I forgot to mention that I actually had to create the servlet code,

1. Load the ImageCaptchaServlet in your web.xml.

jcaptcha

com.foo.ImageCaptchaServlet

1

jcaptcha

/jcaptcha

2. Do something like this in a component class method to get the captcha
question.
captchaId = getPage().getRequest().getSession(true).getId();
return CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().getQuestionForID(captchaId);

3. Point to the servlet for the captchaimage in your component .

4. To validate the user response
captchaId = getRequest().getSession(true).getId();

return
CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().validateResponseForID(captchaId,
userResponse);

Hope this helps.

Re: Looking for a CATCHPA

simply put this in web.xml
 <servlet>
    <servlet-name>captcha</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>zzzzweb.JCaptchaServlet</servlet-class>
  </servlet>

  <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>captcha</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/captcha</url-pattern>
  </servlet-mapping>

And servlet and Tapestry both use the same (singleton) instance of CATCHA service

I've been reading this tread, and I found it very useful. I'm still new
to Tapestry. How do you use the servlet in your page? What is needed
to set it up?

Thx in advance

Just did the following and it seems to work beautifully

public class JCaptchaServlet extends HttpServlet {

  protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {

    String captchaID = request.getSession(true).getId();

    // call the ManageableImageCaptchaService methods
    byte[] captchaChallengeAsJpeg = null;
    ByteArrayOutputStream jpegOutputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    try {
      ImageCaptchaService srv = App.getCaptchaService();
      BufferedImage challenge =  srv.getImageChallengeForID(captchaID, request.getLocale());
      Object challengeString = srv.getQuestionForID(captchaID, request.getLocale());
      // the output stream to render the captcha image as jpeg into

      // a jpeg encoder
      JPEGImageEncoder jpegEncoder =  JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(jpegOutputStream);
      jpegEncoder.encode(challenge);
    } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) {
      // log a security warning and return a 404...
//            if (log.isWarnEnabled())
//            {
//                log.warn(
//                    "There was a try from "
//                        + request.getRemoteAddr()

//                        + " or with a too long one");
//                theResponse.sendError(HttpServletResponse.SC_NOT_FOUND);
      return;
//            }
    } catch (CaptchaServiceException e) {
      // log and return a 404 instead of an image...

      response.sendError(HttpServletResponse.SC_NOT_FOUND);
      return;

I'm using Jcaptcha with my tapestry application.

1. Load the ImageCaptchaServlet in your web.xml.
<servlet>

<servlet-name>jcaptcha</servlet-name>

<servlet-class>com.foo.ImageCaptchaServlet</servlet-class>

<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>

</servlet>

<servlet-mapping>

<servlet-name>jcaptcha</servlet-name>

<url-pattern>/jcaptcha</url-pattern>

</servlet-mapping>

2. Do something like this in a component class method to get the captcha
question.
captchaId = getPage().getRequest().getSession(true).getId();
return CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().getQuestionForID(captchaId);

3. Point to the servlet for the captchaimage in your component .

4. To validate the user response
captchaId = getRequest().getSession(true).getId();

return
CaptchaServiceSingleton.getInstance().validateResponseForID(captchaId,
userResponse);
