Summary: FTPClient.listFiles() returns incorrect directory names
                    if the directory begins numerically
           Product: Commons
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Sun
        OS/Version: Solaris
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Net
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: r.sang@nhm.ac.uk

I have an FTP server with the following directories in it:
10 years and under
11-14 years
15-17 years

FTPClient.listFiles() reports these as:
years and under
11-14 years
15-17 years

It's losing the 10 in 10 years and under!

------- Additional Comments From r.sang@nhm.ac.uk 2006-03-06 10:17 -------
(In reply to comment #1)
> PLease indicate the system of the server you are connecting to and also please
> provide a listing of the directory in which these directories reside from a
> standard FTP program.

The FTP server is IIS running on Windows Server 2003. It reports as Microsoft
FTP Service (Version 5.0).

Using command line ftp from the same UNIX machine that runs my Java app the file
list is reported correctly:
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list.
10 years and under
11-14 years old
15-17 years old
226 Transfer complete.
54 bytes received in 0.012 seconds (4.43 Kbytes/s)

It seems likely to me that it is the parser used that is stripping out the 10 as
if it is an FTP response code. I haven't been able to verify this myself, though.
