I try to use Ctrl-click to access a hyperlink and OpenOffice freezes.

I use Chrome as my primary browser. I've tried other applications (Wordpad,
Sticky Notes) as well but they do not open either. However, those applications
do not freeze when I click. Are you thinking it might be an issue with Chrome
instead?

When you click on hyperlinks in a document, AOO run your default browser.
What kind of browser did you use?
In other applications, if you click a link, does it open correctly?
Please report back the outcome of your testing, so this Issue may be closed or
progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the
future.

It sounds more like an issue with Windows. You need to set Chrome as your
default browser in Windows. I have not used Windows 8 so I am not sure how it
is done there. I would search the help files for the method for Windows 8.

Cannot confirm with Windows 7. Downloaded the attached odt file' opened with
AOO 4.1.1, control-click the link and seamonkey opens the url and displays the
jpg file.
