Is anyone working on this issue or any other procedure which can enable search capabilities in Accumulo?

> Cloudera has created Impala which is used for "real time" queries. More information is located at (http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2012/10/cloudera-impala-real-time-queries-in-apache-hadoop-for-real/). Impala currently supports using HBase as one of its data sources. I propose we add accumulo as one of the data sinks. The backend code is written in C++, but it looks like some handy work with the JNI might get around. The trickiest part will be adding the notion and concept of the security that Accumulo has into Impala. That might have to be done as a separate project.
