class loader manipulations

hi,
it is not clear to me why PortletDefinitionImpl.setClassLoader() is called
in PortletServlet:

portletDefCtrl.setPortletClassLoader(Thread.currentThread
().getContextClassLoader());

and what affect it has on the portlet loading.
what do i need to do with regard to class loaders in my potrtal when using
pluto as a container?
