mod_perl install (was: new install looking for conf file in wrong
place)

That was it. It was set to /usr/local. Oddly, I copied the setting from the
previous httpd.conf for the older Apache.. which uses /usr/local/etc/apache/
- I don't see how it's been working at all ... I looked for any references to
/usr/local/etc to avoid problems but didn't see this.
Now I have a new wrinkle. Now get errors finding the mod_perl modules
Syntax error on line 207 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/apache/mod_mmap_static.so into server:
Cannot open "/usr/local/apache/libexec/apache/mod_mmap_static.so"
It's true; they aren't in /usr/local/apache/libexec/ - nothing much is in
that directory. I've rebuild mod_perl and re-installed.

LoadModule mmap_static_module libexec/apache/mod_mmap_static.so
...
ClearModuleList
AddModule mod_mmap_static.c
...
The entries look good, but the files aren't in libexec/
Can anyone help?
Where are the modules going?
And _why_ are they not going where they are expected?

Just do a find of where your libexec is and you can either (a) move that into
/usr/local/apache or (b) use absolute path in your LoadModule section. Best way
is to find where e.g. mod_mmap_static.so.
