Marcelo Vanzin commented on SPARK-22414:
----------------------------------------
Have you tried {{spark.yarn.appMasterEnv.FOO}}? Pretty sure that's used for the AM in both client and cluster (= driver) mode.

> Key: SPARK-22414
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-22414
> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Deploy
> Affects Versions: 2.2.0
> Reporter: Flavio Brasil
>
> We're trying to upgrade to 2.2.0 from 2.1.0 at Twitter but it seems that there's no way to set the JAVA_HOME for the driver running on the yarn am.
> https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-17979 removed the environment variable SPARK_YARN_USER_ENV, but provided no alternative to set env variables for the driver since `spark.executorEnv` is only for executors.
