modperl, AIX and libapreq problems

I'm looking for someone who is successfully running Apache 1.3x,
modperl 1.27x and libapreq-1.1 under AIX 4.3.3. Failing that, a document
which may help with that combination under AIX. The only way I've been
able to get things even partially to work is by compiling modperl into
Apache using the apaci method. All the modperl tests pass that way,
except SSI. Under no circumstances have I been able to get libapreq
working under AIX, due to a SEGV when I try to do anthing with Request or
Cookie, or even /perl-status after libapreq is installed:

Please post future inqueries to the apreq list [redirecting it there]

You need to recompile libapreq with CFLAGS="-O0 -g" and make a new trace (from
a new core file), so that the arguments and line numbers can be seen. Without
this extra information it's hard to tell what has caused the problem.

Let me see now:

AIX
threads
Perl 5.8.0
LARGE_FILES
cc_r

Did I miss anything? :)

I think you were a bit optimistic there, can you manage without threads at least?
