I think that we should allow all un-reserved characters instead of allowing specific characters.

It's byte wise, so extended Unicode would bide a performance hit.

This is a revival of our discussion we had before. On the one hand,
enabling is great. However, we really want to keep some characters reserved
for extended operations.

+1 Dave, a little internationalization support never hurt anyone. Or
does it only look at a single byte instead of a character?
