performing upgrade
James Taylor updated PHOENIX-3166:
----------------------------------
Summary: Snapshot SYSTEM.CATALOG before performing upgrade (was: Snapshot SYSTEM.CATALOG before upgrade run)
> Snapshot SYSTEM.CATALOG before performing upgrade
> -------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: PHOENIX-3166
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-3166
> Project: Phoenix
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: James Taylor
>
> We should snapshot the SYSTEM.CATALOG before running the upgrade and restore to the snapshot in the event of a problem. Worst case, if connectivity to HBase goes down midway through the upgrade, we'll at least have the snapshot available to restore back in an emergency.
