[jira] Commented: (UIMA-1116) should not modify certain CAS features

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-1116?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12747990#action_12747990 ]

Jörn Kottmann commented on UIMA-1116:
-------------------------------------

Cas Editor only uses normal CAS methods, which are defined in the CAS, FeatureStructure, Type, TypeSystem, etc public interfaces.

Must the Cas Editor forbid changes to a SofaFS ? Are there other FSes in the CAS which should not be modified ?

> The editor should not allow modification of Sofa features as these changes can leave the CAS unusable.
> These features cannot be changed by normal CAS methods, which raises the question of how the CAS editor is modifying these features?
> Anyway, there is an easy workaround, don't do that!
