spell check

A few months ago I lost the ability to use spell check.  It's like the entire dictionary totally disappeared.  I was hoping the new update would fix this problem, but it didn't.  Please see the attached for a screen shot.  Almost every word is gone from the Open Office Dictionary.  How do I get it back?  Thanks.
