importNode(Node importedNode, boolean deep) does not import attribute values

The above code works fine except that it does not import the attribute values.
Is this is a bug or am I doing something wrong here ?

! I have checked importNode() with beta2 and it works absolutely fine. It performs
! deep cloning when set to true and clones attributes too. Try using beta2.
