Hi,

it's really daunting that nobody cares!

I updated https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122235 with my
findings from the last months. I'll follow your discussion with Infra.
Hopefully we can nail the problem and solve it.

Regards,
   Andrea.

<sarcasm>I should have known. Because of such maintenance break issues,
what can not be solved because of reasons inherent to the system, and
because these maintenance breaks would be bad and dangerous, all
international players like Google, air traffic control, NYSE and so on
do NOT use Computers. Nowhere!</sarcasm>

As you state in
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122235
Bugzilla is not broken. There is simply a maintenance window (backup
procedure?) that makes Bugzilla inaccessible in the early morning
European Time (Raphael writes 9-11 AM, I saw it more around 7-9 AM, but
this may depend on timezones and daylight savings).

Probably it's enough to find out what cron jobs run on that server and
schedule the Bugzilla backups a couple hours earlier, so that it will be
less annoying to Europeans. Or find a way to run them so that they don't
cause an interruption of service at all!

Regards,
   Andrea.

Hi,

waiting for Bugzilla becoming available again, I have some time for
general meditations.

Experience of life is that you should not confide your car to a garage
where workers obviously are not interested in repairing their broken tools.

May be during next BZ breakdown you find time to think about relation of
this wisdom to the AOO project ...

Just checked, there are no outstanding issues with aoo-bz, except its very
slow because it has not yet had the db moved. The "scheduled outage" is
unknown, but could be the backup which runs very early morning (europe
time).

rgds
jan I.

Ps. once again it was suggested that we move to jira.

I care, but only as a user of our Bugzilla instance being frustrated
when I need Bugzilla in the morning (European time zone).

It seems that we need to involve ASF Infra as I do not believe that this
scheduled outage every day is controlled by us.

Best regards, Oliver.
