[jira] [Created] (UIMA-3148) Confusing ducc-mon states

Lou DeGenaro created UIMA-3148:
----------------------------------

             Summary: Confusing ducc-mon states
                 Key: UIMA-3148
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-3148
             Project: UIMA
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: DUCC
            Reporter: Lou DeGenaro
            Assignee: Lou DeGenaro
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 1.0-Ducc

The summary page for DUCC job 68181 was confusing to me -- it says Error but it doesn't list any init fails, run fails, or any error jobs. The tooltip for "Error" seems to imply that everything went fine. In the job details, I can see that one JP failed during init. I think I've seen this issue happen twice now (I forget the other job ID) -- any ideas? (just on the UI aspect of it)

=====

Some options are:

1. Forget about the Croaked JP, just say all was well on Jobs page.
2. Don't say "Error" on jobs page, but something else, perhaps: Warning?
3. Say Error/Warning on jobs page, but also say on hover: normal completion of all work items, but one or more JPs failed.
4. other?

=====

I like option 3 the most with "Warning" and the tooltip since that conveys the most information. I was confused that JED was still running tasks but if it had said "Warning", that probably would have clarified it for me.
