Only on a side note, someone kindly mentioned Apache Sirona (Incubating) on
the Microprofile mailing list under examples for monitoring.

While it hasn't seen too much attention lately, Romain who was also
involved (mostly on the mailing list though) looks like the most active
committer to Sirona. And it remarkably got its own configuration subsystem:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/incubator/sirona/trunk/api/src/main/java/org/apache/sirona/configuration/
that feels like a very minimalistic "clone" of Commons Configuration 1, but
IMHO could have easily used that instead (or Tamaya, both are still
incubating after all;-)

Maybe there are plans to use the "to be created" Geronimo project or
something else, but it's interesting to see, many projects rather reinvent
the wheel (with almost no variation, maybe a shiny "gold color";-) over and
over again instead of trying to help a reusable solution become even more
reusable.
