[jira] [Commented] (MYNEWT-185) Clearly Define Linker script requirements

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYNEWT-185?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16140372#comment-16140372 ]

Aditi Hilbert commented on MYNEWT-185:
--------------------------------------

The BSP porting page is pretty complete but outdated in terms of how the linker scripts are broken up between BSP and MCU.
https://mynewt.apache.org/latest/os/core_os/porting/port_bsp/

Let's simply put a note at the top of the page that the basic porting requirements remain the same as described on the page but the scripts have been split up and rearranged to make adding a BSP under an existing MCU a lot easier.

> When building a BSP, you need a linker script. If we move the startup code the MCU, we need to clearly define what variables need to be created in the linker script
