Thanks for looking into this! I'll update our packaging to clarify the licensing on this file before our next release.

> Apache Druid (incubating) currently distributes some tutorial example data which was sourced from an IRC based Wikipedia change history API, the licensing of which and whether we are allowed to distribute was called into question during our [previous release vote|https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/f97a3743e441747552f54dd61148366d808883e33d55cab0d5161770@%3Cgeneral.incubator.apache.org%3E]
> It was collected in 2015 from an IRC channel which was the API for the wikipedia 'edit stream' before it had its current HTTP based API, and is referenced in the docs for the current API [here|https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Recent_changes_stream].
> Since this is metadata about wikipedia content I would naively suspect it would fall under the wikipedia licensing terms for text contributions which is [Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reusing_Wikipedia_content], which I think makes it fall under category b? The file itself is distributed as a gzipped JSON text file, and can be found [here|https://github.com/apache/incubator-druid/blob/master/examples/quickstart/tutorial/wikiticker-2015-09-12-sampled.json.gz]. Can this be distributed as tutorial example data with source and binary packages, or should we work on finding an alternative example and adjust our tutorial documentation accordingly?
> I've opened a corresponding [issue on github|https://github.com/apache/incubator-druid/issues/8300] to track this on our end.
