Does the per topic bean only count messages produced ?  Would it make sense to have a bytes-in/messages-in and a bytes-out/messages-out bean separately ?
Or maybe I'm missing why only having bytes-in/messages-in is useful ?

Upload patch v2. Add bytesOut. MessagesOut is a bit hard since currently we don't iterate messageset to send fetch response.
