[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-9656) status.a.o does not monitor svnwcsub

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-9656?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14577784#comment-14577784 ]

Sebb commented on INFRA-9656:
-----------------------------

One way to check this might be to compare the .revision files on the servers that host the content (currently *.eu.apache.org, *.us.apache.org and minotaur). Unfortunately the .revision file seems to be taken from the latest revision in the repo rather than the latest change to the subtree, so the contents can vary even if the sites are up to date. It looks as though only the www.apache.org site .revision files are likely to be in sync (not sure why this is so)

An alternative would be to check the SVN subtree last revision number against the file contents - if the last revsion number is greater than the contents, then the workspace is out of date.
Doing this for www.apache.org would at least show when the entire process is broken. However it would not detect problems with individual checkouts. Such issues ought to be detected and reported by the process that updates the working copies, but it is not clear if that is happening, so it might be an idea to also check all the other workspaces on a regular basis.

Note: it's not possible currently to check the contents of the workspaces on minotaur except from minotaur itself, as the minotaur-2 proxy has stopped working.
But the monitoring could all be done from minotaur.
