Foreign Key

How to create tables with foreign key of tables that do not exists yet.
In sql I would ALTER TABLE after the creation of the missing table. I
can not change the order of the creation, as there is multiple
references between the different tables.

Thanks.

Wow, that is a really useful file. Thanks. I'm not sure I would have
found that myself.

John D,
Look under torque-gen-3.1-alpha1\templates\sql\base
then choose the database your using and look for a file called: db.props
this file should provide you with the info you're looking for.

I suppose in a way I just answered my own question. If I put in an
invalid type it gives me a list when I try to compile. Here's the list:
BIT TINYINT SMALLINT INTEGER BIGINT FLOAT REAL NUMERIC DECIMAL CHAR
VARCHAR LONGVARCHAR
DATE TIME TIMESTAMP BINARY VARBINARY LONGVARBINARY NULL OTHER
JAVA_OBJECT DISTINCT
STRUCT ARRAY BLOB CLOB REF BOOLEANINT BOOLEANCHAR DOUBLE

Of course that still doesn't tell me how each maps to the database.

Schema Datatypes

Are the supported datatypes for the schema documented anywhere?

The schema reference page includes the following for the column element:

type What type of column is it? Covered below, defaults to VARCHAR

But as far as I can tell, it's not covered below. I'm just looking for
a list and for things like how to define precision for a number/decimal
column.

thanks,

John Dietz

Re: Foreign Key

I don't think Torque supports this explicitly. What you could try is to look
at the "skipSql" attribute for the foreign table. That way you could provide
torque the info it needs to generate things, but to skip the generation of the
foreign table.
