Error reading XML document based on schema!?

Hi there!

Using xerces J 2.0, I'm trying to read a xml document, based on a schema
definition, with SAX. I have turned on the features
http://xml.org/sax/features/validation and
http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema. However, when parsing the
document,
I'll get an error massage, saying that the root element is not defined (with
error code "cvc-elt.1", whatever that means). Reading the same document with
other XML applications, such as XML Spy works fine. 

Any hints?
