I've lost track of how non-mvn releases work

I got a complaint that the download links for XmlSchema were busted. Sure
enough, the download page expects a version-named directory in the middle of
the site, it isn't there, and I have no idea where it is / where it went.

I vaguely thought that the download links pointed to the maven repo, but
apparently I'm misremembering. Can anybody help me?
