[jira] Commented: (MATH-443) Incorrect exception specification in
AbstractLeastSquaresOptimizer.optimize()
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MATH-443?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12933535#action_12933535 ]
Luc Maisonobe commented on MATH-443:
------------------------------------
The exception hierarchy is currently completely overhauled, many exceptions have disappeared and a bunch of new exceptions have been created, many of them being unchecked exceptions.
The method you cite now throws only unchecked exceptions.
Could you have a look at the subversion repository and see if either the 2.X branch or the trunk (which is used for work on 3.0 version) do fit your needs ?
Any comments on this ongoing work before we release it is welcome.

> AbstractLeastSquaresOptimizer.optimize() declares the following exceptions: FunctionEvaluationException, OptimizationException, IllegalArgumentException. However, it also throws MaxIterationsExceededException. I think that instead of OptimizationException, ConvergenceException should be declared.
