Preloading images

I am trying to learn Tapestry  and have a question. I am trying to do something 
similar to the Rollover component. I am using images for my buttons in an 
application and want the image to change on the mouse down and mouse up events. 
This leads me to two questions:
1 - Is there an easy way to do this?
2 - How do you preload images?
