[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-6384) Migrate Ambari from SVN to Git

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-6384?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13681629#comment-13681629 ]

David Nalley commented on INFRA-6384:
-------------------------------------

Does the current git mirror accurately reflect what you expect/want in the git repo?

/site will remain writable and the location of your site due to the need to use svnpubsub.

If the git mirror reflects what you want, we'd make your SVN tree RO, migrate the mirror to a writable git repo, make that repo RO and ask the PMC to audit the repo. That generally would take less than an hour. How long the PMC takes to audit and sign off on the repo is a different matter, but once satisfied, we 'generally' are able to get around to making the repo writable in less than 24 hours. (this takes little time, but depends on availability)

> We would like to migrate from SVN to Git, so that we would be able to commit via Git.
> Current SVN repo: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/ambari/
> Current GIT mirror repo: git://git.apache.org/ambari.git
> Also, we are interested in knowing what the expected downtime would be.
> Do let us know prior to migrating.
> Thanks!
