   @jkrdev In the case of the variable being reassigned, I think it makes sense to use a new variable (can keep the same name, but redeclared in each block). It results in cleaner code, and it's not like variable names are a limited commodity.
   
   For the stale ITs you mention... if you see anything significant, you can just create a new issue in JIRA at: https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/CreateIssue!default.jspa for the "ACCUMULO" project (or just click on the "Create" button to create a new issue after logging in to that JIRA). If you have questions about whether you made the issue correctly, you can always ask on the dev@ mailing list, but chances are, somebody will triage the new issue whether you ask or not.
