[jira] [Created] (INFRA-11248) Hadoop: undo merge commit to trunk, and disallow merge commits

Carlo Curino created INFRA-11248:
------------------------------------

Summary: Hadoop: undo merge commit to trunk, and disallow merge commits
                 Key: INFRA-11248
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-11248
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: Git
            Reporter: Carlo Curino

I have mistakenly committed a merge commit (c3641ed3b183fa46e6b042fd19c1a373b8f95d33), which would be ideally removed (the result shold be YARN-4420 parented by HDFS-9637).

Also Merge commits (even simple forward ones like this) should probably be disallowed on branches in which we can't force-push (and thus repair mistakes).

Thanks,
Carlo
