[jira] Reopened: (MNG-4014) expose -e command line argument in settings.xml

jieryn reopened MNG-4014:
-------------------------

Ok, I appreciate that however the settings.xml sets a precedent (although, I'm not sure which of these two came first, if either, as I'm not a Maven dinosaur :-) with the <interactiveMode/> and <offline/> tags. Both of these are available on the command line, and yet there was a usability case for being able to specifying default values in the settings.xml..

Would a patch be accepted that provided this functionality?

> Please consider externalizing a configuration variable in settings.xml which would set the default state for error and exception trace visibility. This would directly correspond to the "-e,--errors Produce execution error messages" command line switch. It would be useful in a continuous integration settings.xml.
> Thanks!
