[jira] [Commented] (FELIX-3511) Use java.concurrent from Java 6

Carsten Ziegeler commented on FELIX-3511:
-----------------------------------------
As we have 2014 now, I think it's worth moving to at least Java 6 now - people on older Java versions can still use the 1.3.2 release.
I've updated trunk to Java 6 and replaced the oswego stuff with java.util.concurrent. In addition I did some performance/memory consumption improvements in the async handler, reducing the object creation (and therefore memory consumption) by 50%

> The Event Admin bundle uses content from Oswego
> (EDU.oswego.cs.dl.util.concurrent) that is functional also available in the
> standard java library (java.util.concurrent).
> I have made a version without the Oswego stuff based on the actual trunk (rev
> 1324766) using java.util.concurrent.
> Perhaps it would be nice to use it in future 'official' versions ?
> It would also eliminate the need to put the extra-license from Oswego discussed
> earlier (http://osdir.com/ml/dev-felix-apache/2010-02/msg00401.html)
