How would I download the current code for openEJB 3

Hello all,

I would like to understand how EBJ3 works and 'watch' as the code
changes to support the spec.

Where can I download the current version of the code?

I am just now learning about creating EJBs and I would also be willing
(eager) to help test as many changes as I am knowledgeable enough to.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay...

Sorry for giving you the wrong one, all the new mailing lists can be found
here, http://incubator.apache.org/projects/openejb.html . You can subscribe
to them by sending a subscription mail to <mailing-list-name>-
subscribe@incubator.apache.org. Have fun ;)

That email address is not working for me.

I assume that it is because openEJB got accepted into Apache Incubator.

Does someone have the new address?

Thanks,

You can watch the code changes by subscribing to the openejb-scm mailing
list, send a mail to this mail address
*scm-subscribe@openejb.org*<sc...@openejb.org>
.

Where can I download the current version of the code?

Using SVN version 1.3.1, *svn co
http://svn.codehaus.org/openejb/trunk/openejb3*

I am just now learning about creating EJBs and I would also be willing

By watching the SCM mailing list you can know which features are currently
supported and test them in ur applications while you learning EJB

Awesome! Dave, you're extremaly fabolous. It doesn't take much to do
it, but you seem to be THE only one who does it! It's a toy in your
hands. I do appreciate such short courses of how to interact with
people in a way that amuses them ;-)

Hi Jay,

So I scrambled to put this together for you and anyone else who'd
like to follow the development more closely:

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/OPENEJB/OpenEJB+3+HeartBeat

That page contains:
  - a link to the current binary fresh off the continuous integration
system
  - all recently closed jira items for openejb 3
  - all recent svn activity for openejb 3

I'll definitely keep that page updated as we get more sources. I'd
like to add in:
  - build status
  - recently updated documentation for openejb 3

Any other suggestions are good too. I'll consider putting up an
OpenEJB 3 blog if people were interested. We could maybe use it to
highlight significant developments and how to use them.

It's due to a missing SNAPSHOT repository that's just been added and
the change committed to the repo. Give it a shot and report.

$ svn ci -m 'Add parent dependency so that repositories are managed
from a single file' pom.xml
Sending pom.xml
Transmitting file data .
Committed revision 2889.

The tests don't work yet as some files are yet missing. Looking into it.

Although I don't think it will help people much, I've just fixed it.
No need for the OpenEJB parent pom dependency at all and Dain's repo
is not required, either (because XBean 2.6 OpenEJB depends on is on
the m2 official repos)

I've also checked in the changes that fix running the example with
non-EN locale (where Portugese becomes portugalski in pl locale and
assertEquals blew up).

Sending helloworld-stateful-pojo/pom.xml
Sending helloworld-stateful-pojo/src/main/java/org/acme/FriendlyPersonImpl.java
Sending helloworld-stateful-pojo/src/test/java/org/acme/FriendlyPersonTest.java
Transmitting file data ...
Committed revision 2892.

A note on that. The example poms intentionally didn't use any parent
pom so they were completely stand alone -- don't want people thinking
they need to extend the openejb parent pom to run ejb tests with
openejb in maven2.

For the moment, add Dain's repo to the repo list of the example.
When we get rolled over to xbean 2.6, we'll be able to remove that too.

After the last change of mine, there's no need to do so. The example
missed the above repo and thus the error.

I had also filled a jira issue for XBean 2.6 upgrade -
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/OPENEJB-265 that's just been closed as
fixed.

Thanks Dain for pointing it out!

BTW, Would you mind removing the XBean jars of COL-SNAPSHOT version
from the m2 repo of yours?

I thought I changed OpenEJB back to use xbean trunk. Guilliam
recently released xbean 2.6 which contains all of the fixes we need
for OpenEJB, so we should switch over to that. Anyway, in the mean
time you can download the jars directly from here:

David,

I have been unable to get that example to run. It is looking for the
xbean-spring COL-SNAPSHOT and not finding it.

Where could I find it to do the install manually?

Jay,

As I just wrote to Jeremy, this sample app is a great quick start.
Something you may want to try.

$ svn co https://svn.codehaus.org/openejb/trunk/openejb3/examples/
helloworld-stateful-pojo
$ cd helloworld-stateful-pojo
$ mvn clean install

That will download the example. The 'mvn' command will build and
test the ejbs with OpenEJB. The whole thing runs very fast. Here is
the output from my machine:
