Mark Hobson commented on MNG-792:
---------------------------------

Woohoo, this problem appears to have vanished in 2.0 RC! I wonder what fixed it - have any relevant dependencies been upgraded?

Does ctrl-C now work for everyone else? If so I guess this can be closed.

Mark Hobson commented on MNG-792:
---------------------------------

No difference ;)

I've noticed that if you're quick you can ctrl-C just before m2 kicks into action, but once you start seeing output in the console it's too late.

I'm not up to speed as to the m2 boot process, but could it be possible that something in one of the libraries used has changed, e.g. classworlds, etc?

Mark Hobson commented on MNG-792:
---------------------------------

This happened on two different PCs when moving from alpha-3 to svn-trunk. I've just reinstalled cygwin with the latest code and the problem still occurs.

If I switch my M2_HOME to alpha-3 then ctrl-C works fine - even within the same environment as when the latest m2 doesn't interrupt.

I tried switching sh.exe with base.exe but in the latest cygwin distro these appear to be the same file anyways.

you've probably changed something locally. It works for me, and the m2 script hasn't changed.

cygwin often has this problem - one way of fixing it is to replace /bin/sh.exe with /bin/bash.exe

FWIW ctrl-c also doesn't work for me in m2. I'm not running under cygwin but direclty under the dos prompt. This is quite annoying when you make a mistake and want to cancel the build. It's probably something in the .bat file but I haven't checked.

---------------------------------------

I saw the same behavior on XP without using cycwin (using the m2.bat script)
It's pretty annoying expecially if you incidentally run m2 in online mode without a working internet connection: you can't stop it and you have to watch it trying to download all the POMs for dependencies...

nothing has changed in classworlds. I don't think the jline version has changed which could be the only thing I can think of affecting it.

I've never seen this problem on the .bat file version...

Are you using the same JDK across both?

Sorry, but we're not likely to be able to reproduce this. the ctrl-c issue in cygwin is a known issue to them, though. If you find out, please let us know!
