jar output question

All,

I've been asked why jar outputs messages like:

<GC: need to expand mark bits to cover 262144 bytes>

I've scanned the documentation for jar and rummaged around the net. I can
find numerous references to the "error", but no explanation! Is it an error
to worry about or to ignore? Any ideas where jar errors are documented?
