[users@httpd] Apache HTTP Server 2.4.x for Windows?

All,

Hello. Forgive my unfamiliarity with Apache but I have a question regarding
Apache HTTP Server 2.4.x for Windows. We currently have version 2.2.22
running on Windows 2008 R2. I reviewed the download page and release
statements concerning the 2.4.3 version but I did not see a release
statement that addressed Windows and I did not see an installer for Windows.
Is there going to be a release for Windows or a timeline for release? Or are
there patches that upgrade 2.2 to 2.4? We are an organization responsible
for being within compliance and our notification tells us that we are to
upgrade to 2.4.x. I would greatly appreciate a response and thank you for
your time.

Sincerely,

Molly Handy
Cyber Systems Administrator

[users@httpd] Unable to connect apache server ouside local address

Posted by je...@pcas.com.
Hello

I have an Apache server running several applications. From my subnet I
have no issu to connect to them (adresse in 192.168.6.).
But from other place (adresse 192.168., like 192.168.1) we are unable to
connect to these applications. And that occur from only two weeks ! We
have a redirection to Google (which search adresse of the server)

With wireshark I see the communication between the client and server (see
capture in attached file ) line 5 we have the get request and line 6 ACk
from server:

Then a new ACK from client line 6, and line 7 the redirection from the

But I am unable to understand why I have this 302 redirection.

What can I do to identify that behavior ?

I can only say that this doesn't answer the question either. If it isn't a
policy change, what kind of a change is it? What is the explanation for the
change? After a history of downloading versions from the httpd.apache.org
site for nearly a decade.

Please note that this is a *question.* All previous queries on this topic
seem to me to have been summarily dismissed as irrelevant complaints. A
proper answer seems merited.

This arguement has been going on the HTTPD-dev list recently too.
Defining some terms should answer your question.

Binaries are provided by volunteers who have commit access to the HTTPD
project. They are not formally provided by the Apache Software Foundation.

There is ongoing discussion on the dev list about a way forward with regard
to Windows binary distribution. In the mean time, try the ApacheLounge
binaries. (if I was not using a mobile device, I would post a link, but it
should be easy enough to find anyway.)

That said, please do not email the dev list to complain about the lack of
"official" binaries. If you have any experience in automating the build
process on Windows, that might be appreciated.

Just to clarify, this is not specific to Windows. The Apache httpd project
doesn't provide any binaries for any platform.

Cheers

Molly,

This question is asked routinely; please search the archives before posting.

The Apache Software Foundation does not provide Windows binaries. You
must compile the software from source (no simple matter on Windows) or
obtain binaries from a third party. Apache Lounge is the best known
source for such binaries: https://www.apachelounge.com/download/

You can find Apache 2.4 binaries, including the most popular Apache
modules, at the above-cited URL.

Good luck!
