[Apache Bloodhound] #74: Using the BatchModify plugin causes two checkboxes

#74: Using the BatchModify plugin causes two checkboxes
-------------------------+--------------------
 Reporter:  mpoole       |      Owner:  nobody
     Type:  enhancement  |     Status:  new
 Priority:  major        |  Milestone:
Component:  plugins      |    Version:
 Keywords:               |
-------------------------+--------------------
 Using this plugin: http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/BatchModifyPlugin

 To reproduce:
 * Dropped BatchModify-0.8.0_trac0.12-py2.6.egg in the plugins directory in
 bloodhound project
 * Enabled in trac.ini
 * Restart apache (wsgi)

 See screenshot for example.

 I'm not sure if you guys are planning on supporting this plugin but it's a
 must for me and anyone else who puts nagios/automated alerts into trac.

 now I know ... jftr , I'm not familiar with BatchModifyPlugin , that's why
 I ask
 ;)

 Considering the fact that ''Bloodhound RC1'' will be released having
 ''Trac=0.13'' set as a dependency , IMO we should not make a decision on
 this subject until someone test it with the version of
 ''!BatchModifyPlugin'' built-in .

Comment (by gjm):

 The update to a newer trac revision has given us built-in batch
 modification - the relevant commits for that update were:

  * r1340948 - update to vendor/trac/current to head of trac trunk
  * r1340951 - copy of vendir/trac/current to vendor/trac/0.13dev_r11046
  * r1340960 - merging vendor/trac/0.13dev_r11046 into trunk/trac

 We don't have a problem with the double checkbox at this point. It would
 certainly still be worth checking whether there is any functionality
 missing relative to the !BatchModifyPlugin and also whether an installed
 and activated !BatchModifyPlugin plays nicely and so is considered
 supportable.

Comment (by gjm):

 Well, at the moment we are branched at trac:r11011 and I suspect changes
 associated with trac:#525 are after this.

 Perhaps it is getting towards the time to update the vendor branch.

 It looks like it is not the patched version we keep at {{{trunk/trac}}} at
 the moment. I'll try to get that fixed.

Comment (by gjm):

 I believe we now have mpoole's installation using our patched trunk. I
 also confirmed this in my environment:

 {{{
 #!sh
 source ./bloodhound/bin/activate
 pip install -e svn+http://trac-
 hacks.org/svn/batchmodifyplugin/0.12/trunk#egg=BatchModify
 }}}

 restarting the server, enabling batchmod.web_ui.* and looking at a custom
 query shows the double checkbox behaviour for me.

Comment (by olemis):

 I don't get it . In plugin page (green `float:right` news panel) I just
 read this message :

 > Starting with version 0.13, this is built-in the base Trac [trac:#525
 t:#525]

 ... so that makes me wonder what's the reason for installing it in
 ''Trac=0.13'' if it seems to be already there ?
 maybe I'm missing something.
