google analytics for apex website?

I do not see a UA tracking code on the apex.apache.org webpages. Can we add
it? Google analytics is very valuable in learning about the website traffic
and what users are looking for.

I looked around other apache projects and they do have it. Spark, storm,
flink etc.

Sure, sounds good. I guess, it might need to be a Google Account. This is
what the user management says: "User e-mail that is registered in Google
accounts"

From what I know, there is an admin user for each account (and
corresponding tracking code) on google analytics.

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1008080

They also have user management for adding/removing users to this account,
but not sure if we can add an email alias there.

Ashwin,

I'm updating the PMC resources with the access details for the Google
analytics account.

The agreed policy was that any PMC member that is interested can be
added as a user to the account. Can you please change my access so I'm
able to add other users.

Probably should be accessible to PMC and/or committers only for now. If the PMC wants to allow sharing this data with other 3rd parties, then the privacy message will need to be changed.

Additionally, the website may need a privacy footer to indicate metrics are being collected.

Please take a look at http://www.apache.org/foundation/policies/privacy.html too and use that if needed in the privacy footer.
