Why do we have Jitpack repo?

While updating the Gradle build I discovered that we use Jitpack as a
repository.

Does anyone know why? It's a bad practice since it implies source
dependencies which are by nature not reproducible (or, at best, fragile).

Hi  Cédric,

      I added Jitpack as a repository, but it is no longer used. Feel free
to remove  it.
