[jira] [Created] (HBASE-29196) Is the hbase.regionserver.maxlogs configuration parameter designed to support dynamic loading?
yuting sun created HBASE-29196:
----------------------------------
Summary: Is the hbase.regionserver.maxlogs configuration parameter designed to support dynamic loading?
Key: HBASE-29196
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-29196
Project: HBase
Issue Type: Brainstorming
Components: wal
Affects Versions: 2.6.0
Reporter: yuting sun
After node restarts, we are observing that 40 WAL splits are taking a significant amount of time to complete. To reduce recovery time, we're looking to decrease the number of WALs. However, adjusting the *hbase.regionserver.maxlogs* configuration requires restarting the RegionServer. Is it advisable to make this configuration parameter dynamically adjustable instead? Are there any recommendations or best practices the community can share regarding this scenario?
