[Bug 122237] New: Gallery: dragging elements into the gallery does
not work when authentication is required
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122237
Bug ID: 122237
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Gallery: dragging elements into the gallery does not
work when authentication is required
Classification: Code
Product: General
Version: AOO400-dev
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: CONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: code
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: arielch@apache.org
CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org
* Open a Writer document
* Select menu Tools - Gallery
* Open your browser and go to http://www.openoffice.org/images/AOO_logos/
* Drag any of the pictures from the browser into the gallery (how this is done,
may depend on your browser; on Firefox: put the mouse over the picture link and
while keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the mouse into the Gallery)
Result: the picture is inserted into the Gallery.
Now try with any of the pictures in http://demo.owncloud.org/files/webdav.php
The site requires authentication: user name and password are both test
Result: nothing happens.
Expected result: a dialog should appear asking for user name and password, and
the picture should be added to the gallery once authenticated.

--- Comment #2 from rainerbielefeld <ra...@bielefeldundbuss.de> ---
NOT reproducible with server installation of "AOOo 4.0.0-Dev – English UI /
German locale [AOO400m1(Build:9700) - Rev.1476029]" on WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit)", own separate user profile. Drag and drop to Gallery of a picture
shown in Seamonkey browser works fine.
Drag and drop of a Hyperlink never works for me (does not matter whether I ty
link in directory view or from URL input line). Mouse pointer shows 'Drag &
Drop' view, but nothing happens when I release left mouse button after I have
reached Gallery area in AOO Window.
@ Ariel Constenla-Haile:
Please add all information requested in following:
c) Contribute a step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
f) add information
f1) what EXACTLY is unexpected (Mouse pointer still correct or whatever ...)
f4) concerning your Operating System (Version, Distribution, Language)
f5) concerning your AOO version (with Build/revision ID if it's not a
public release) and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
f6) AOOo settings that might be related to your problems
f7) how you launch AOO and how you opened the document showing the Gallery
f8) Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
before you launch AOOo (please see
<https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location>)
f9) Whether that worked in former OOo / AOO Versions

--- Comment #1 from Ariel Constenla-Haile <ar...@apache.org> ---
Note: in order to reproduce this bug, try with a Developer Snapshot build
(webdav ucp is broken in 3.4.1)

Removing keywords.
Setting back to confirmed.
@rainerbielefeld: I'm a developer, I know it is a bug, because I know the code
;)
